Sunday Inspiration

Happy Sunday

Halloween Goodies, Fall Ideas and More......!

Halloween is a fun excuse for decorating your house and yard for the season.  Whatever way you choose (fun or scary), there are lots of ways and possibilities to make your home festive for the holiday.

To most people Halloween can be scary, especially for small children but for adults and teenagers it means party, party, party!!!

If you live in Texas, we have what is called Fright Fest and it is hosted at Six Flags, a great amusement park located in Arlington, Tx. If you are ever in Texas you must visit the 212 acre park that has evolved greatly over the years.

Fall is all about bringing in warmth with colors such as crimson reds, browns, yellows and other warm toned colors. Here are a few fun pictures i thought would be perfect to accent your home. I will be trying some of these ideas myself, as too i love decorating. If you try any of these please post a comment with a link. I would love to see them in action.

October-Breast Cancer Month-Hope Candle

Breast cancer is a cancer that starts in the tissues of the breast.

Over the course of a lifetime, 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer.
Risk factors you cannot change include:
  • Age and gender -- Your risk of developing breast cancer increases as you get older. Most advanced breast cancer cases are found in women over age 50. Women are 100 times more likely to get breast cancer than men.
  • Family history of breast cancer -- You may also have a higher risk for breast cancer if you have a close relative who has had breast, uterine, ovarian, or colon cancer. About 20 - 30% of women with breast cancer have a family history of the disease.
  • Genes -- Some people have genes that make them more likely to develop breast cancer. The most common gene defects are found in the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes. These genes normally produce proteins that protect you from cancer. If a parent passes you a defective gene, you have an increased risk for breast cancer. Women with one of these defects have up to an 80% chance of getting breast cancer sometime during their life.
  • Menstrual cycle -- Women who got their periods early (before age 12) or went through menopause late (after age 55) have an increased risk for breast cancer.

Early breast cancer usually does not cause symptoms. This is why regular breast exams are important. As the cancer grows, symptoms may include:
    • Breast lump or lump in the armpit that is hard, has uneven edges, and usually does not hurt
    • Change in the size, shape, or feel of the breast or nipple -- for example, you may have redness, dimpling, or puckering that looks like the skin of an orange
    • Fluid coming from the nipple -- may be bloody, clear to yellow, green, and look like pus

I write this to inform you that you are not alone and that we as people can help support those in need. Me personally i have lost three family members to this deadly disease and am a strong advocate of trying to find a cure. Being that said, October is Breast Cancer Month and every year my company raises $5,000 or more to the Breast Cancer Organization. I am proud to be apart of a company that donates regularly and have had great success helping those in need of our support.

Introducing Our Hope Candle For The Cure(16oz)

Created for Susan G. Komen for the Cure to breast cancer, this Limited Edition 16oz pink jar candle is perfumed with high-end designer fragrances. For each candle sold, Scent-Sations will donate $10.00 to the Foundation with an initial goal of $5000.

SO GET INVOLVED AND HELP US REACH OUR GOAL. WERE NOT ASKING MUCH BUT THE MORE HOPE WE SELL THE MORE LIVES WE CHANGE
    Many Blessings
